Engraving Information
We at Broderickk are picky about our engraving. If we don't like how it is going to
look we will contact you by email or telephone with suggestions before engraving. When
we do engrave we take extra time making it look as perfect as can be expected.
Note: All of the engraving examples below on this page were engraved
prior to 2008.
We prefer BLOCK and Cursive over slant font; or, a combination of them.
Capitals in slant look terrible. They look better in cursive and great in heavy block
Heavy Block is 5 times the engraving per letter. Slant is only an outline of each letter.
We like to put Love on a line
by itself in cursive font and slighly larger then the persons name below it in cursive font.
We only use slant if block or cursive wont work or if we put slant between block and cursive which
as John, Stay Safe, Love Amy.
Also, engraving is like sending a telegram where every word cost $100.
Less is better and font is bigger.
First and or first and last name at top is common for military and police.
Avoid non-essential words-makes
font size smaller, complete sentences, and redundant
references such as Jim, I Love You, Love, Me.

Slant Font |
Slant
is the font we like and use the most. With slant we can
engrave more words yet keeping each word as large as possible. Slant allows us to space the engraving for the best appearance.
There are exceptions such as using all capitals in slant for initials or a word
may look better in heavy block or old english with the rest of the engraving in slant, cursive, or both.

and lower case all elegant and engrave with wonderful spacing and appearance.

font takes up 2 to 3 times the space as slant so the letter
will be a lot smaller or we suggest using only one to three words.

Engraving Time.
Engraving usually takes up to 1 to 2 business days.
How much will fit.
Our machines have the ability to shrink words and phrases
to fit the item. However, please remember space is needed on the
outside edge for centering. The more words may reduce the size of each letter.
